You must hold a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417) or (subclass 462), student visa, or other valid work entitlement to be considered for a job placement.

We work closely with many different employers and industries. Depending on the season, these include: tree nurseries, juice sheds, wineries, fruit and vegetable packing sheds, construction sites, irrigation installations, handy person work, bars and restaurants, gardening and general weekend work.

If you are holding a Working Holiday Visa (subclass 417), most work placements in Griffith qualify for the second & third year extension. Holders of the Working Holiday Visa (subclass 462) are limited to employment in plant and animal cultivation for their visa extension. You may still gain employment in other industries, however, these jobs will not count towards your visa extension.

This is a free service to our residents, and unfortunately we cannot currently offer seasonal work placements to people who are not staying with us.

You will be working directly for your employer, not for Griffith Working Hostels. All of the businesses we work with provide payslips and pay Award Wages or above. You do not pay us for our work-finding services, and neither does the employer. You only pay for rent and transport (if applicable). This is a mutually beneficial arrangement that – hopefully – encourages our guests to stay long-term and helps employers recruit motivated workers more easily.
